Rustic Living For Urbanites
Pete Teo
Take the buzziest singer songwriter in Malaysia, add King Crimson's producer / mixer, some of East Asia's best contemporary and ethnic musicians, equip them with nothing but vintage gear. The result is a chart topping world fusion folk album. Gorgeous.

Description
In the words of Marco Werman, Pete Teo is 'not your typical singer-songwriter'. He's composed theme music for Channel 4 TV in London. He's taught Social Theory at the London School of Economics. He's led a Cantonese pop band in Hong Kong. Then he gave up music and became a financial analyst in Kuala Lumpur, and later, a project manager. But his marriage ended. That's when old friend and record producer Leo Fung came to visit. The result is a sensational indie record by the name of 'Rustic Living For Urbanites', which has since spawned a Top-10 single in Malaysia and glowing reviews all over the world.
Following a groundbreaking 3-city solo tour of Japan in September 2003, Pete was featured on the PRI / BBC co-produced NPR radio program 'The World' in the USA. He was also the subject of a nationwide NHK FM radio feature in Japan. His official website won 'Silver' at Malaysia's Kancil Awards 2003 and 'Gold' at The New York Festival Interactive. His 'Live@The Green Room' concerts in Kuala Lumpur was nominated for 'Best Musical Performance' at The Cameronian Arts Awards, and 'Rustic Living For Urbanites' itself has gathered 4 nominations at Malaysia's AIM Awards 2004, including 'Best English Album'.
