Description
Surely more songs have been written about love than any other subject--and this recording presents twelve of the best, most melodic, in Jim Gibson's unique style.
Jim's approach to recording his Hickory Cove Music albums is always the same--to spend hours in the recording studio working with each song until "something interesting happens." There are no written arrangements, no preconceived plans--he just works with each song until an idea develops. (This, of course, results in a lot of wasted studio time . . . but it's worth it when one of the arrangements takes shape and "works.")
Jim Gibson's mother was his first piano teacher--he started five-minute piano lessons at the age of four, and though he has two degrees in English, he's earned his living as a pianist--mostly in Atlanta, GA--for over thirty years.
It's probably the "cross-fertilization" from Jim's classical background and his years playing jazz and commercial piano that enable him to create these very pleasing and relaxing arrangements.
