Description
Music sticks in your head. Is that a blessing or a curse?
As you walk through the store, the overhead speakers bleat sweetly... someone's melodic idea of "buy, b-u-y, b--u--y." Sometimes the tune won't stop when you stroll out the auto-opening doors. Goes right with you. Like cigarette smoke on your clothes. Gets in the car with you. Plays in your head. You can't escape.
The doctor says: seize your inner playlist! Put on something amazing! Huge orchestral music that is funny, saddening, noble, ethereal, tantalizing, driving, intricate, unsettling, satisfying! Music fit to soak your psyche...fill your head with We Dance.
Be prepared for a ride. From the first cut Julie will take you on a journey. Can you imagine music for the Creator of the Universe riding on the wings of a storm? Neither can we. But Julie can. You have to hear it. Did you ever think you'd walk around humming "Jesus Loves Me"? Neither did we. But that's because we didn't know it was a Calypso tune! You have to hear it. Can you conceive of sounds overpowering enough for the throne room of God? Neither could we. But Julie can. You have to hear them.
You simply have to hear them. Sometimes CD Baby's clips are not satisfactory for longer pieces. That's why we put 'strategic' music selections here. Listen up, then come right back:

Everyone hears the Celtic influence in Julie's music. Why not? She's a lineal descendant of Mary Queen of Scots!
You should buy this album, of course. But fair warning: it's more expensive than it looks. You'll pay only a few bucks here at CD Baby. But you'll be tempted to go buy gear that lets you hear every lilt and crash. It's that big.
Here's a CD that will set your inner playlist to "sing and make music in your heart to the Lord." (Ephesians 5.19).
If you prefer instant electronic delivery, all of Julie's CDs are available at Apple's iTunes Music Store.
About the Artist
Julie Larson is a composer and orchestrator. She studied piano at the University of Texas at Austin and received her degree in music composition at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles.
She was composer-in-residence for the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra for six years and has received grants from the Texas Commission on the Arts, the Texas Composers' Forum, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Ms. Larson has composed three symphonies and pieces for a variety of chamber ensembles. For eight years, she produced, directed and scored numerous award-winning videos, including an award winner at the prestigious New York Film Festival.
At present, Julie is writing music based on the melodies of traditional hymns. Her new music is cinematic in style -- movie music -- and the unsung words to the hymns are the dramatic inspiration.
"My goals are simple. This music is written about the glory of God, and my desire is to glorify God with it."
