Description
Born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts, the 28 year-old singer/songwriter has been writing songs since high school, however it wasn't until his years at Syracuse University when he truly began developing his talent as a musician. Brad began his musical career as a drummer and guitarist playing with college buddies Adam Cohen and Pete Yorn.
After graduating college, Brad headed to New York City with a backpack and a dream. His early recordings in New York caught the attention of music manager veteran Chip Quigley (Sugar Ray & Talking Heads) and Brad soon put his focus and energy behind finding a talented producer and making a great record. This determination set Brad on path to Los Angeles where he began recording with producers Evan Frankfort (Wallflowers, JayHawks) and R. Walt Vincent (Pete Yorn).
After recently finishing an album's worth of material entitled "The Ever Changing Picture", Brad assembled a talented group of indie musicians, including Emile Millar and Mick Flowers (Postfontaine, The Lapdancers) on guitar and drums, respectively, and is now performing in the LA area after a recent tour on the East Coast.
Brad and Emile currently host evenings of Eclectic Wednesdays at the world renowned Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles that showcase the stripped down singer/songwriting beauty of Brad's songs. However, with Emile, Mick and the full band backing Brad, the rock and roll foundation of the songs from "The Ever Changing Picture" are brought front and center. These shows are not to be missed. As Brad's fan base continues to grow, so does the buzz ... if you're lucky enough to see him live, you'll know why.
"One of the best independent CD's I've heard this year."
- Melodic.net
..."One of the most intriguing new artists I've had the pleasure to hear in ages. The 'Ever Changing Picture' is an undiscovered gem."
- Andrew Ellis, Popmatters/Ink19
"Mix together the well-padded harmonies and reverberating swirls of U2 and Coldplay and the somewhat somber but pointedly-emotional vocal style of David Gray (with just a little more rhythmic drive and a tempo cranked up just a notch) and you have the heart-strumming style of Brad Byrd. For those times when you want to soak in lush, watery guitar lines and feel the emotion echoing in your head, this is a spongey album with washes of sound that will leave you changed."
