Description
Single tracks (as well as full album) are available through digital distributors such as iTunes.
Is Danny REALLY narcoleptic? Only at the piano. Medically, definitely not. He has plenty of orexin. The inspiration for the title is found in the music's sleep-inducing qualities.
The Album: Though originally intended for insomniacs, the album has found an audience among a much broader population. The melodic and harmonic strains are often minimalist in genre so as to relax, rather than distract, the conscious mind. This can occur to the extent that many listeners have reported falling asleep - see reviews below for examples. (Do you know anyone who needs sleep?) The music comes from inspirations from such sources as Lewis's Narnia to Blake's Tyger.
A suggestion on how to listen to the CD: Let it play in the background of a restful environment a couple times before trying to use it as a relaxation/sleep aid to enhance your ability to entrain. Find a time and place in which you can listen in solitude, start the CD, and let it run all the way through. If you are already totally relaxed, start the CD at track #3, "Solstice." I know there will be certain sections or songs that you will connect with more than others - that's certainly to be expected with any form of music - but this album has been designed in a certain rhythmic and melodic model that can be experienced only as a whole.
The Composer: Danny has studied Music Therapy and Psychology at Loyola University New Orleans, is a Certified Massage Therapist, a photographer, vocalist, water safety instructor, aspiring author, and a few other things as well.
