Description
Singer-songwriter Tonya Miller released her debut CD "Keyhole" in 2002. Featuring original pop songs, Keyhole appeals to an alternative audience with its angular melodies/lyrics and layered electric guitar tracks/background vocals.
Miller arrived in Boston in 1989 and soon after studied music composition at Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, Miller was selected for various recording ensembles and jingle sessions and was a featured vocalist on several concerts including a solo spot with Berklee's Rainbow Band. Performing in the greater Boston area for a number of years as a jazz vocalist, Miller switched gears in 1996 and began writing pop songs, accompanying herself on electric guitar.
Prior to arriving in Boston, Miller maintained an intense performance schedule with a college jazz vocal group which won several Downbeat awards and performed with artists such as Bobby McFerrin and Janis Siegal of the Manhattan Transfer.
