Well I finally did it!!! I came out of that shell of fear, and did something that was itching at me for years. I released my first CD relflective of me, which is a compilation of everything from Jazz music to Rock. Having coming out of a unique cultural background, as well as growing up in a musical family with my father performing internationally for the past thirty years, I am versatile, and I enjoy variations in the approach to my music.
Singing is my life's passion, and I am a true believer that whether you perform in front of an audience of one or one million, it's all the same. As an artist, my focus is on the music, and even given the prospect of succeeding materially as a result of my passion, I want to maintain the focus on my artistic expression. I intend for my next Debut Release to combine the unique blend of cultural sounds and lyrics that I grew up with. Considering the diversity of today's mix of the musical genre, this next CD will be another colorful alternative.
I currently reside in Illinois maintaining a close relationship with my family, and where I perform at local venue's. I am a full-time teacher and graduate student, and it all adds colour to my palate. I welcome any questions or comments that you may have. TALK TO YOU SOON!!...MARY!!
