Graham Perry
Style: AAA. Graham Perry's current-sounding, yet diverse writing style makes his music difficult to classify. Still his unique voice along with his mutliple instrument performances create a common thread throughout, making Perry's music truly unique.

Description
Since the late 1980s, singer/songwriter Graham Perry has been actively hammering away at the seemingly impenetrable doors of the commercial music industry. As the front-man for successful alternative acts like Tucson Simpson (#13 add, Nov., 2002 CMJ Charts) and Greek Life Aquarium, Perry has displayed numerable years of live and recording experience.
As a songwriter, he has penned or co-penned a number of songs cut for artists Martin Crutchfield and Hophead in addition to having had some of his work appear in commercials and at least one independent film, "Blackbirds and Blazers" (staring Billy Joe Shaver - yet to be released). Perry performs regularly throughout the Midsouth Region as a solo artist and with Tucson Simpson.
Drawing from experience acquired as a staff songwriter for Crutchfield Music, Perry (a Ph.D. Candidate in U.S. History at The University of Memphis) exhibits a writing style that is both unique and diverse, resulting in an eclectic mixture of music that can only be called original.
The recording of Perry's first solo CD, Perryphernalia, was completed at Puddin' Truck Studio in Memphis with the help of producer/engineer Rob Crockett, who himself has had a great deal of performance experience with well-known artists (Elvis Presley, Hoehn & Duren, Good Question, Square Force, and Billy Swan). Further embellishments were provided by other heavyweights including guitar virtuosos Jeff Miller (Survivor) and Terry Ferguson (Good Question), Latin percussionist Boyd Branan, and bassist Brady Howle (Sallymacs), along with a cameo co-writing appearance by Van Duren, a key founder of the highly successful rock group Big Star.
The team's creation uses a wide variety of instrumentation, vocal harmonies, catchy melodies, and memorable hooks to create a pleasurable listening experience for listeners across a broad spectrum, although his style could be labeled AAA by industry standards. Perry has drawn from his rich life-long exposure to commercial and alternative music to begin what he believes will be a groundbreaking album.
