Description
Kathleen Swann has been using relaxation techniques throughout her nursing career. This led to the development of the relaxation series, Relax with Swann. She was inspired by the teachings of Drama Director, Judy Schierlitz while attending Villa Maria Academy in Buffalo, New York. Her cast was able to learn to relax prior to each performance, reducing anxiety, thereby increasing creativity. "Seasons of Serenity" is dedicated to Judy's memory.
The deep sleep that can be achieved through progressive relaxation can be useful in stress management. Kathleen's guided imagery consists of peaceful visualization (day-dreams she helps you create). She incorporates positive reflections throughout "Seasons of Serenity" in an effort to build self-esteem and strength. Its effects may include a reduction in perceived stress or depression. People undergoing medical procedures may find music therapy enhances the powerful mind-body connection. Basic focusing techniques are used, centering on breathing. This meditation is self-directed, relaxing the body and calming the mind. There are NO subliminal messages here.
The soothing melodies created by Ken Kaufman complement the spoken word performance of Kathleen Swann. Kaufman has captured sounds from around the world. Native American rhythms resonate with his use of electric piano, harp, temple blocks, recorder, and strings. Ken's artistry comes alive with piano, bass strings, and oboe in his original compositions. Strings, inspired by the ancient sites of Machu Picchu and Kyoto bring out the Asian flavor. And electric piano, xylophone, bass, shakers, guitar, strings and flute help put you in a tropical mood. These songs stand alone brilliantly in the instrumental version, SEASONS OF TRANQUILITY.
