History
Vell Rob, born in Akron, OH came from a place where poverty was just another part of growing up in tha hood. Vell attained a passion for music at home, in school and in the neighborhood, only to find his niche in a genre of music called rap, which incited him to pursue it professionally in the early 1980's. Vell Rob wrote his first rap song at the tender age of (9) nine, while waking up in the middle of the night loathing the fact that school was in the morning. Recording his first demo in 1992 entitled Positive Not Negative, he gained radio play from a local college station, 88.1 F.M. wzip.
Experience
Trying his best to better himself and disassociate with negative influences, he joined the U.S. Military, served four years and received an honorable discharge and high service marks. Attaining his Associate's Degree in Business Management, this Hip-Hop artist got back into the swing of things and decided to start his own label for the sole purpose of "branding" himself as an artist. Having rubbed shoulders with well-known music industry professionals such as, Jermaine Dupree, Michael Maldin (Jermaine's father), Ice-Cube, Scare Face, EPMD, Gangstarr and a host of others while at different venues, Vell has obtained wisdom and knowledge he couldn't have received anywhere else, and has realized that the business involves much hard work and dedication.
Performances
His stage performance is explosive and full of improv. He has performed at places such as, The Rhythm Room (Cleveland, OH), The Cleveland Black Expo (Cleveland, OH), Goldie's Entertainment Center (Akron, OH), The Voo- Doo lounge (Akron, OH) The African Festival (Cleveland, OH), Club 727 (Cleveland, OH), The Mirage Night Club (Cleveland, OH) and also opened for Jarule of Murder Inc. (Columbus, OH).
Objectives/Goals
M.C. or music lover, this man definitely has goals. One goal is to drop hot music and make an innovative impact on how rap music is viewed by the general public. "There are just some things I would like to prove to myself." His long-term objective he says is, to get involved in real estate, and give back to the African American Community by letting disadvantaged individuals, or families buy their first home at a reasonable price without financially straining them.
