This Man's Heart
Gary Doles
The complex voicings of a thumping, smoky, jangling guitar set the stage for original stories, laughing and real and profound, told in textured, powerful and tender vocals with all the energy and immediacy of a live performance.

Description
Gary Doles is the universally acknowledged and uncontested Father of Live Organic Free-Range Folk-A-Bluesy, an acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocal genre that encompasses a broad variety of styles and that is predicated upon the elegant notion that the song is the highest art form, being the purest meeting of mind and heart - words and music. Each song is a place, a time, a life, a world; funny, sad, earthy, provocative, soulful and true. He was the 2003 winner of the Suwannee Springfest songwriting contest.
He began developing his uniquely entertaining performance skills somewhere in the late 60's in Coconut Grove, Florida (he claims that there is no truth to the persistent, recurring rumor that he was the seventeen-year-old kid that introduced Joni to David Crosby). He plays the six-string dreadnought guitar in ways that others just don't - thumping and smoky and tender. Trained guitarists scratch their heads and try to figure it out. His voice has found the true path through a thousand stories.
Gary Doles has independently released three CD's; One Man (2002), The Night of Heaven and Earth (2003 - original Christmas songs) and This Man's Heart (2004). He performs his original songs and stories at festivals, concerts, coffee houses, churches and wherever people have gathered for the purpose of listening.
