Description
John Holenko holds degrees in Classical guitar performance from the New England Conservatory and University of Southern California. He has performed throughout the US and in Europe as a soloist and member of several groups including the Medieval ensemble Sonus, The Donnybrook Legacy, and the Hungry Monks. Called "A skilled soloist" by the Boston Globe, Mr. Holenko has been heard on radio broadcasts in the US and Europe, and has been featured on recordings by The Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
Conversely is John's first solo recording. Combining his classical training with his love for traditional music, John has produced a CD of his own arrangements that will appeal to both classical guitar fans, as well as lover's of traditional music, and steel-string fingerstyle playing.
Much of this CD is devoted to the music of Turlough O'Carolan, the great Irish harp composer, in arrangements for Classical guitar, along with some traditional dance music of Ireland.
