Description
Jim Gibson's debut CD. All original songs. Performed with a lineup of some of the best musicians on the planet. Lots of blues guitars/saxophones/keyboards/and swinging vocals. Jim Gibson blends down home blues with Louisiana swamp, and classic rock 'n' roll. His sultry slide work and bluesy guitar set the tone for the "down home" approach he takes to his music.
The Nashville Blues Society says, "Jim is a must see!" A top-notch entertainer, Jim's band moves smoothly from blues to R&B to rock-and-roll. Each musician shines like a brand new dime as the show simmers, then sizzles, then blows the lid off with some high energy, good-time, pressure cookin' music!
Jim grew up in Savannah, Georgia and Los Angeles, California. He naturally combines the cultures, styles, and grace of both cities to come up with a groove-laden, rockin', swampin', collection of songs that'll have you movin' to the music right from the first downbeat! The influence of Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, Steve Cropper, Van Morrison, Otis Redding and all the great traditional Bluesmen are found in his music.
Jim is also a songwriter, and many new, up-and-coming artists in several different genres (Pop, Rock, Blues, R&B, Cajun, and Americana) are recording his songs. The Nashville Blues Society's first album, Music City Blues Volume One" features "Too Late," written and performed by Jim.
In the recording arena, Jim's first CD, "Something for Everyone" is getting rave reviews and can be heard on cutting-edge independent radio stations across America. Jim's new CD, "Storm Warning," is going to keep the party swingin' with special guests "Mighty" Mo Rodgers and "Blues Brother" Steve Cropper lending their talents. "Storm Warning" is getting airplay in Great Britain.
In addition to his live shows and CD's, Jim can be heard on many radio and television commercials throughout the country. His soulful vocals are warm and inviting.
