Tina Marzola is a talented singer/songwriter who is not afraid to address issues. Her songs are honest and to the point, without being preachy. She claims she is a "people-watcher" and from this and her own personal life-experiences, she weaves heartfelt, intelligent lyrics and folk-based melodies into her own special style...think early Mary Chapin Carpenter with a dash of Joan Baez's world-weariness. Overall, SHE'S READY is an engaging effort brimming with Ms. Marzola's husky, melodic voice and personal, sometimes resonant, songs. She writes solid, down to earth lyrics about real situations. Most of them are love songs of one kind or another, but rather than telling us old stories again, she looks at the sometimes familiar situations in new ways capable of moving listeners. The album is like the ghost of your own emotions coming back to haunt you, making you feel it again but from a slight, heartening distance.
