Description
Pawn Shop Porno is a hard-rock/metal group that presses the big red button of emotions through heavy grinding rhythms and sometimes crushing and melodic vocals. They have been compared to bands such as Faith No More and early Metallica meets a severe acid trip. They are also gaining a nation-wide buzz with CD sales from coast to coast and the demand for band merchandise has been moving off the shelves at impressive speeds.
The Porno's debut EP, Window Shopping, clearly illustrates the ability to captivate the raw emotions of love / hate and self-pleasure through the project's creative and constant forward musical progress. The songs are an emotional kaleidoscope through everyday ups and downs and are just a sample of the future ability and staying power in the ever-changing musical world of today, according to founder Bille Thompson.
Window Shopping demonstrates the bands ability to give 110% of what they have to offer starting with the first track, "Small World", which has been widely received by local radio as well as a quickly swelling fan base of PSP t-shirt wearing fans. The remaining 5 tracks take the listener on a journey of emotional identification, which has several heads turning to see what will happen next. Club owners, disc jockeys and everyday 9-5 people are lining up too take a close look at this trio and it's ability to identify with its audience.
Creative administrator, Bille Thompson, sums up his primary belief and goal for this project he has labeled "Pawn Shop Porno", and that is "build it and they will cum!" (no pun intended)
Currently the trio is focusing on targeting the southwest United States in such cities as Phoenix, San Diego and Los Angeles as their launching pad for the rest of the world. Also the group is currently pushing their marketing efforts through radio, record stores, on-air appearances, news weeklies, college related events and first and foremost through the kids.
