Brave New Heart
Roger Jaep
An eclectic collection, with pure country, country-rock, and country-pop songs, bluegrass, dixieland, and even something you might term country-jazz for want of a better term; there's also retro-pop songs and ballads with some lush orchestration.

Description
BRAVE NEW HEART is my first recording in 27 years. The last was on RCA Records in 1976. Like Rip Van Winkle and General Douglas MacArthur, I have returned; and I've noticed that things have changed a bit in my absence. Cher, for instance, has seemed to have got a lot younger. Myself, I'm older--and not appreciably wiser--but I have been busy, writing songs.
This album has a bunch of those songs on it; and most of them, I guess, would fall under the rubric of "Country Music"--though, personally, I'd say it's a pretty eclectic collection, with a lot of variety to it. There are pure country songs, country-rock, and country-pop songs, bluegrass, dixieland, and even something you might term country-jazz for want of a better term. There's also retro-pop songs and ballads with some lush orchestration, and even one song with a hint of soul to it (if not a hint, at least a whiff)--it's a kind of roadhouse blues thing.
BRAVE NEW HEART was a long time coming, but it most definitely was a labor of love. Give it a listen, and let me know what you think.
