who are the tom smiths?

originally starting out in melbourne, australia as a talent-less garage punk outfit in the late 80's. each band member was named after one of the members' grandfather's, tom smith. the band then proceeded to break up before even performing on gig.

in the ensuing years a couple of the toms have moved around the world, picking up and dropping replacement toms along the way. the band now has a permanent line up consisting of one of the original australians, a canadian and two californians.

fyi: mr. tom smith (the grandfather) is in great health despite just have a knee replacement operation.
