Description
Gary Yamane has been a student of the creative process for 35 years, ever since he picked up the saxophone at age 8.
He holds a B.A. degree in Creative Arts and is a musician and composer who has composed for multimedia projects by international high tech companies and local non-profit organizations.
His current CD project "Voices in the Wind" is a unique collection of compositions using flutes from around the world. The CD has been nominated for best album of the year in the 2003 CD of the Year Awards on Kweevak.com., and the New Mexico Music Industry Awards for 2002 has nominated the album as Best Musical production in the Native American style music category! Also, The piece "Morning" has been nominated by Just Plain Folks for best solo instrumental of 2002.
His music spans the genres and is as diverse as life itself. During the summer of 2002, he toured with the Southwest Repertory Theater Group and provided the music for the production of N. Scott Momaday's play "The Indolent Boys".
He is also a digital artist and has won awards for his digital images.
He currently lives in Taos, New Mexico in an Earthship with his soul mate, dog, and cat. He teaches music at a local charter high school and performs and records regularly locally.
