Description
With her Debut album, State of Grace, Cynthia Barber has put together a fine collection of songs. A traditional country songwriter, she brings a quirky side from the Colorado country that she grew up in and the influences she has picked up on her travels.
Currently residing in Chicago, Il the band is a stand up group of fellows: Don Stiernberg (Also plays with country crooner Robbie Fulks, as well as his own band, the Don Stiernberg Trio - dedicated to encouraging jazz mandolin)
Kevin Connelley on drums, Curt Morrison on a multitude of guitars and sometimes Mark Beringer on bass. Tommy Sanchez (Liquid Soul) appears on 'Anthem.'
For the last three years they have been working with producer Craig J. Snider who more often works with the pop diva set
in the remix world. A Two-Step producer having recently produced for Kylie Minogue, Cher, Saluna etc. he and Cynthia hooked up by her choosing because she wanted to work with someone who wasn't completely into the sounds of country or alt-country. Also, the less he knew, the more she could find her own style as a producer. Together they are cooking up album number two.
