Description
JB & The FUNKYARD GANG cook up a Funky Jazz/R&B mix of Fatback Drums, Bass, Hammond Organ, and twin Guitar / Saxophone melodies. These guys are all masters of the funk and veteran session players led by Jon Belcher, the soundtrack drummer from Fat Albert's original Junkyard Band. Their new CD includes the singles, FATFOOT and the title tune TOAD'S RIDE.
Along with Jon's fatback drums, the music features session great Gary Herbig on Saxophones. Gary's playing can be heard on albums by Herbie Hancock, Toto, George Benson, Larry Carlton, the Yellowjackets, and "The Simpsons" TV show. Also featured with the FUNKYARD GANG are Dan Dean on Bass, and John Morton on Guitar, both highly regarded recording veterans and master funkateers.
If you're a fan of "FAT ALBERT & the COSBY KIDS" and wondered what the Junkyard Gang has been up to lately...this is it. No samples, no loops, nothing but the real deal, and still funky after all these years.
