Description
Joan Coffey is taking on the world... and winning. Wowing audiences with her incredibly energetic and uplifting live sets, she's won over fans from Asia to America, and all over Europe. Consistently original, always entertaining and with a natural charm that many politicians would kill for, Joan's enormous voice belies her tiny frame.
The debut studio album, Everybody Needs One, was recorded in a barn in Kent, South England over a period of ten days with a dedicated small core of musicians, all of whom believe in putting heart and soul into every minute of every song. Co-produced by Phil Saatchi, who worked with Paul Brady on his album "Back to the Centre" (which was the first album Joan ever bought... there's serendipity working!), the album has had a huge response in London.
An old-school artist, Joan believes in getting on the road as much as possible, and trips to Nashville, New York and even as far afield as Kathmandhu have kept her in the good company of world-class musicians such as Nanci Griffith, Suzy Boguss, Edwina Hayes, Nick Kelly, Nick Harper and many more.
One of the richest, fullest voices to come out of Ireland in the last ten years, this is a timeless album.
