Description
The name "Lilypoint" derives from a geographic point: Cape May Point, New Jersey, where Lake Lily is found. Thie region is also the Southern most tip of New Jersey, and the migration point for birds along the Eastern shore. Lilypoint is the solo project of Jeffrey Touzeau, a singer songwriter formerly of the band 44 Sunsets.
Lilypoint's first album, I Saw You, was written, produced, and performed by Jeffrey in his Westchester, New York studio, Hummingbird Sound. Written and recorded after the birth of his daughter Caroline, the album details themes associated with awakening; awakening to one's opportunities, responsibilities, and gifts. Honest emotions are exquisitely woven within melodies meant to capture moments in time. The title track I Saw You is a prelude to the joyful moments anticipated in life: "Speak to me, I'll listen for every word for one day I will hear a beautiful lady where once was a baby this year." The lighthearted first track (and single), Oatmeal in my Eye, is a wonderful, upbeat journey through the eyes of a silly baby. Walking basslines and four part barbershop harmony add to a majestic blend leading into a wonderfully catchy chorus: "...and when the oatmeal is gone, won't you sing me a song?..." The album's last track, Autumn Morning is a quiet, serene duet with Jeff's wife, Kim. The track's lyrics focus on the strength and love that is required to clearly see and overcome one's challenges in a complex and ever-changing world.
Touzeau is a seasoned writer and performer, who is equally skilled in production and engineering. This combination creates a result which realizes a distinctive vision: Lilypoint.
"Smooth, simple and well-mixed. Vocals are reminiscent of Beach Boys, early Paul McCartney. Clever lyrics and interesting perspective"

"The songs are well crafted and thought out, lyrically and musically. Clever guitar work, and full of irresistable melody. Don't miss it."
