Description
Marty Van Loan has been a performing singer songwriter in the southern California area for the past 20 years. In 1997 he was a finalist in the Telluride troubadour contest. Ten years ago he confounded with his musical partner Leslie Merical, the alternative folk/pop band Left of Memphis. Left of Memphis has toured regularly throughout the western United States since then and released two CD's.
Marty's current release "Autumn" is his first solo album
As with the previous two records, Marty is joined by some very talented friends. Jim Monahan (Chris Hillman Band) Produced and played multiple instruments. Perla Batalla (Leonard Cohen) Lent her beautiful voice to several songs. Michael Witcher plays Dobro.
Drum duties were split between John Nichols and Jesse Siebenberg (Supertramp). Alan Thornhill, Brett Dennen and Leslie Merical all sang back ups and Jim Merical, Jeff Evans and Johanthan McEuen all played some electric guitar.
Marty was born and raised in upstate New York. The title "Autumn" reflects the Feeling of the season and the songs tell the stories. Sit back and enjoy.
