Runaway indie success Chris McKhool gets children and families dancing and singing songs from his appearances on Mr. Dressup, YTV and the CBC. "Earth, Seas & Air" won a "1996 Parent's Choice Audio Approval Award" in the U.S. for excellence in children's audio! 14 great songs include "B is for Bicycle", a song celebrating the two-wheeler. Romp through a rain forest in "When You're a Tree". And sing along to "We Must Take Care", a children's anthem for the new millennium! This CD is masterfully produced by Ken Whiteley, of Raffi and Fred Penner fame.
Chris McKhool is one of Canada's favourite children's stars, and has been touring across Canada with his children's concerts for eight years, reaching over 500,000 children. Chris has appeared on Mr. Dressup, YTV's Treehouse, TVOntario's Crawlspace and the CBC. He was a finalist for the "1996 Environment Canada Action Award" for the "Earth, Seas & Air" CD and live concert show.
Chris has toured through all of Canada including Baffin Island and the Maritime provinces and has appeared at the Ottawa, Vancouver, Thunder Bay and London International Children's Festivals. In the U.S, he was a favourite at the Taste of Chicago, The Old Town School of Folk Music and Front Porch Music. He has also performed in England, Cuba, Guatemala and Tibetan schools across the Indian Himalayas.
In 2001 Chris brought his love of violin to young audiences and started touring his FiddleFire! concert for kids in festivals across Canada, including the Distillery Jazz Festival in his home town. Chris has also brought FiddleFire! to Toronto Harbourfront's Cushion Concert series and headlined Toronto's First Night at the Skydome.
Chris is a winner of:
