As the old Japanese proverb says "Why make one when you can do it twice, at twice the price?" That's the sentiment LA/NYC based producer Take reflects as he returns with his third & fourth Buttermilk release to date: Colossal Volume 1 & 2. Celebrating the success of his previous releases Third Story and Pieces From the Puzzle, Take continues to push the boundaries of instrumental hip-hop composition with 2 brand new EP's. Next in line to blow up, Take has been compared to the likes of Prefuse, Shadow, and RJD2 amongst others. However, Take's sound is his own, layered with melancholy textures and always full of emotion. For this release Take doesn't ride back into town alone, this time around he's brought friends along for the journey! Rednosedistrikt, Daedelus, Caural, Nordic Soul and Mr. Supreme (Sharpshooters) have all remixed one of Take's songs. Their unique and creative interpretations of his work are nothing less than stunning! Colossal is a whirlwind of artistic license that will hold your attention long into the twilight.
