Description

Techung is a Tibetan singer/songwriter/performer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He grew up in the exile Tibetan community of Dharamsala, India, following the occupation of Tibet by Chinese communist government, in 1949.

This compilation CD is from Techung solo recordings: Nyingtop-Courage (2003),Sky Treasure (2001),Changshay (1999), Yarlung (1997). He had also recorded four traditional music cd's with Chaksam-pa, the Tibetan Dance and Opera Company, that he co-founded in San Francisco in 1990.

His voice and music has been featured on the soundtracks of the IMAX film"Everest"; in music by George Harrison and numerous other documentary films.
