This unique and spirited music features soulful arrangements for congas, talking drums, electronic synthesizers, sounds of nature, timbales, djembe drums, acoustic drumset, bongos, hand bells, shakers, rattles, a taste of electronic percussion, and more!

Dr. Arvin Scott is a multi award winning percussion artist and youth program developer/coordinator, as well as a devoted educator who has more than three decades of national and international experience. Selected highlights include: finalist in 5 categories of the 2000 Athens Music Awards, winner of 3 categories including Album of the Year and Best World Ethnic for "Spirit Of The Drum" Best Supporter for the Music Scene for his "Drumming for Success" youth program - a community based youth motivational program.which inspires and rewards academic achievements and provides incentives for success in life. He received the Athens Human Rights Award in April 2000 for his service as founding director of the Drumming for Success youth program. Arvin was also a finalist in both the "World Music" and "Jazz" categories for the 2002 Flagpole Music Awards. In 2001 his "Spirit of the Drum" CD was added to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame archives.
He has toured with Blue Note artist and Grammy winner Mose Alison from 1986-91. He performs frequently with Widespread Panic and has performed with Roy aka "Futureman" Wooten of Bela Fleck and the Fleck Tones. In 1996 Arvin's handdrum ensemble performed for the 1996 Olympics in Athens Ga. In addition having an active world percussion performance schedule he is the leader of the Arvin Scott Jazz Ensemble.
In addition to being an active performer and youth program leader Arvin shares his knowledge and abilities as a highly in - demand full time educator at the University of Georgia - having spearheaded several multicultural/world percussion classes. He is also in charge of all-around drum set instruction at UGA. He also developed and teaches a unique world percussion course designed specifically for music therapy majors at the University of Georgia in
Athens. Before moving to Athens in 1991 Arvin was on the faculty of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
