Description
"Bridge of Love", a nine-song CD, December 23, 2003: its original contemporary folk and folk-rock songs transport the listener through varying soundscapes. Move from the earthbound rock of "Leap", all about getting back on the road and living to bring road stories back to friends who keep the homefires burning, and "Don't Leave", a cheerful rocker about the failings of someone who can't seem to get his/her act together and probably wants too much out of life, to the title track "Bridge of Love", a tranc-y song with beautiful vocals and hypnotic arrangement about love newly-found, love reborn and love ever-circulating.
"Train Song" is the high, lonesome plains with ghostly guitars and vocals. "Love is a Shadow" drips into the film noir mood. "Long Gone" is a cross-fire hurricane Valkyrie blues rocker.
"Bridge of Love is a sonic journey. Picture a big stage in a darkened theater...
We asked our friend and drummer Jef Wilson to play over the entire track of "Bitter Money". That's him doing the clackety-clack sound. Dave Doyle played the Chapman Stick on "Bitter Money" and "Leap" in combination with some of Roy's basslines. Dave has joined us for a couple of gigs and will be playing with us for some upcoming shows, which is great!
Bridge of Love is a good CD for a night drive from a city to a remote cabin.
It's not recommended for housecleaning--you won't get the work done.
Love,
The Elsewhere Band
