PRESS RELEASE -
Greg Clinton's Essays & Contemplations Reviewed at Green Man Review Website, Carried by iTunes, Rhapsody
"Just right for an hour of meditation."
- David Kidney, Green Man Review
Lawrenceville/Athens, Georgia - Yes, it's happening. People who've never heard of Greg Clinton listen to their first sample track from Essays & Contemplations and then go and buy the CD. There's a charm happening here - at places like Border's Bookstore, Amazon.com, CDBaby.com, and SongCritic.com. And now, these delicious instrumental jazz-rock tracks have become available at Apple's iTunes music store!
Amazon.com actually just sold their last copy of Essays & Contemplations this summer, after their retail arrangement with the CD was discontinued by Greg (due to increased fees). However, www.cdbaby.com is the largest independent CD retailer on the Web, each year selling millions of dollars in CDs by independent artists. CDBaby is definitely Greg's favorite online outlet for the shrink-wrapped CD. The shopping cart from gregclinton.com uses CDBaby's service. And for downloads, there's always iTunes!
Read a summer 2004 review of Essays & Contemplations by senior reviewer David Kidney at www.greenmanreview.com. Highlights:
"The music here is a blend of soft jazz and the sort of soundscapes that were found in the progressive rock of another decade. ... Pat Metheny is an influence on Clinton's guitar playing."
"'City Nights' is a moody guitar piece showcasing Clinton's fretwork. Very tasty."
"Again Clinton's guitar is the standout instrument, perfectly representing the contrasting moods; first thoughtful and sad, then lifting the spirit in hopefulness."
