Description
The CD was recorded in and around 1995 at Mike's house. Mike had scraped together some recording gear and we recorded every original we knew. Some of the songs were twelve years old, some were brand new but Mike was going off to med school so we just laid 'em down.
Lisa and I had been playing together for years, everything from country to noisy rock and roll. When Mike joined the band we were playing all the joints in Tucson. Lisa and I had full-time jobs and Mike was a full-time student so we rehearsed and played as much as we could.
This is what we were playing. This is the results of our short time together. It's Idle Hands rock 'n' roll. From the poignant "Girls in the Neighborhood" to the cynical "Breakaway". From the tired "I Got a Job" to the cautiously optimistic "Mama Come A'Runnin'".
Alot of water's passed under the bridge. I haven't talked to Mike in years, but I'm sure he's a successful doctor by now. Lisa's playing country in a band called the "Last Call Girls". I just left a band called "Snake Oil" but I'm working on another original music project. We've already played a couple of Idle Hands "covers".
Hope you enjoy the album. Hey, maybe if we sell enough copies we'll have an Idle Hands reunion. 'Course, the hairline isn't what it used to be.
