Mary debuted her songwriting talents with "Hullabaloo House" and "Lost Weekend" which are spun directly from Mary's life, and like Leslie's songs, expose the dysfunctionalities and eccentricities of typical american life in irony and humour.

Leslie considers Mary her little "buried treasure" and says she loves singing from Mary's journal as well as her own.
