Description
Raised in Ghana, equatorial sun stanzas & the breaks of coastal waves are immediately evident in Nii Ayikwei Parkes' words. He has an intensity that is entirely his own, owing nothing to volume and everything to the resonance of his soul.
Current Farrago UK Poetry Slam champion and resident poet at the Poetry Society of England, Nii is also the host of aromapoetry (www.x-bout.com/aroma) and has been published in extensively. He has performed to audiences in Paris, London, Accra, Manchester, New York, Connecticut, Chicago, and California including stints at the world famous Glastonbury Festival and the Austin International Poetry Festival (Texas, USA).
Nii's first book "eyes of a boy, lips of a man" is in its second edition and "Incredible Blues" is his first CD.
