Description
As we look back upon the period around 1939 we observe a lightheartedness appearing in the music. A cheerful lilt seems to weave throughout the sounds.
Even though the King of Jazz in 1939, Paul Whitman, insinuated swing music was becoming obsolete, great bandleaders were moving forward to show just how wrong that prediction was.
Jukeboxes were the real rage during this time and because of this method of a never-ending stream of records, Americans were able to hear such greats as Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller.
