Born from the people of Trinidad and Tobago in the late 1930's, the sound of steel drums has delighted many ever since. For years the distinct sound of pan and Caribbean music have been woven into the fabric of tropical destinations. Caribbean Sound presents a show-stopping entertainment experience that will capture your attention and your imagination.
The variety of performances from Caribbean Sound includes educational programs, orchestral programs, concert series, festivals, and other events throughout the year. Centered around steel drums, the stage show entitled "An American Carnival" mixes the sound and culture of the Caribbean through Calypso, Soca, and Latin music with Classical, American pop, and original compositions performed as a solo group or with an orchestra as part of a Pops, Family, or YPC series.

Each time I listen to The Caribbean Sound Steel Band I get this refreshed rejuvenated feeling. The Caribbean Sound Steel Band music is uplifting and a complete joy to listen to. This reviewer had the distinct pleasure of reviewing their 'Evolution' cd and now it's their 'J' Ouvert Comin' cd's turn for it's cd review.
Caribbean Sound Steel Band J' Ouvert Comin' CD has 11 fantastic tracks on it. My attention was grabbed by the title track J' Ouvert Comin' - it shows the musicianship of the Caribbean Sound Steel Band. The french word J' Ouvert means 'light of day'. Well the Caribbean Sound Steel Band will put the light in your day with the J' Ouvert Comin' cd, just a few of those tunes to light up your day will be: 'Carnival Man' is another track packed tight with Caribbean Sound Steel Band talent as musicianship and songwriting goes, and everything else that they have up their sleeves. Amazing!.....Pan by Storm is done with the energy/stamina and all that Caribbean Sound Steel Band possesses. I can not say enough about these musicians, they exceed beyond excellence.
Caribbean Sound Steel Band has outdone themselves on their 'Santana Medley', another tune by the way that caught my attention, or I should say 'grabbed my heart and soul'. Not only did their version give me 'chills to the bone' but it also brought on tears - if your music gives me tears and chills you have something HOT on your hands. And when you have the caliber level of Caribbean Sound Steel Band coming all together, what can you expect. This was the most exciting, heart touching 13:53 minute ride I have ever been on. Even Santana himself has never gotten this reaction from me. Caribbean Sound Steel Band, you have made Carlos Santana proud!
