Description
the name 'deva' is persian and means 'the shining one'. devas was founded by andri leonardo in 1997 and in 2003 released the first album called 'true illusions'. the original line up has changed since and has gained more power and intimacy with the new members. after relocating from the east coast to california devas is playing the LA scene establishing a big following.
their music is progressive pop/rock, intimate, atmospheric, and a bit decadent, but emotional and powerful. "if it doesn't tickle you, it's not real. so that's what we're going for, the tickle!" [andri]
-Jonathan Pine writes for ProgressiveEars.com:
My favorite tunes are the fifth song "Moving On", a marvelously delicate ballad with excellent vocal line and piano work and the tenth track "Losing Faith" dreamy, containing harmony vocals and a classy, weeping, Latimer-like, guitar solo.
-Per writes for www.missingpiece.net:
For those who like Echolyn this is definitely a must and I can also hear influences from groups such as Genesis and Porcupine Tree. [...] Absolutely a must. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
