Francis Doughty's debut CD release, "Among Trees", presents 13 original finger-style instrumentals performed on acoustic (steel-string) guitar. This is evocative guitar music. Each song is a character piece written in a style that both stands on its own, while reflecting influences of folk, classical and American blues.
Sweetly lyrical and evocative, with changing rhythms and subtle syncopations, while his upbeat tunes tend to draw more from the guitar's percussive character.
