Description
WITH memorable melodies over funk-infused grooves and whimsical lyrics, Colin McKay has something to say. Sounds reminiscent of The Talking Heads, the presence of P-Funk and the zaniness of Frank Zappa are all swirled into songs that are quirky yet totally accessible.
McKay has played in original and cover bands as a guitarist, singer and songwriter, but with this CD he presents his own vision. Working with producer/guitarist Tommy Osuna, a winner of the 2001 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, meant that the proper vibrations n' sensations were captured on the recording for sure.
McKay combines wide-ranging influences and experiences to create a Cosmic Funk-Pop sound that is pure ear candy. People sing along to the words before they even know them. Toes tap, hands clap, and heads bop in time! There is no doubt these songs and others on the stove will create a whole lot of excitement for a whole lotta people.
