Door No. 1: EP
Dagmar
DAGMAR is Bartok in a rain dance with David Bowie -- six spirited musicians picking up where Pete Townsend and Pink Floyd left off, developing a new "Found Music" genre in the process: odd parts, odd bedfellows, crafted together, all of a piece.

Description
As Dagmar sings: "You can't come back if you've never been, and you can't come out if you don't go in."
Written and conceived by award-winning composer Jim Bauer (The Weimarband / The Blue Flower) and fronted by high-intensity actor/singer Meghan McGeary, New York-based DAGMAR is six agile and versatile musicians from around the globe and a variety of musical backgrounds, from the dusty plains of Texas to the hallowed halls of The Juilliard School, having more fun than bugs in candlelight picking up where Pete Townsend and Pink Floyd left off in their music-meets-theater adventures, continuing to build a new "Found Music" genre in the process. According to Bauer and his Dagmar band-mates, "Found Music" - odd parts, odd bedfellows, crafted together, all of a piece - "is the new FM."
A surreal, operatic story cycles through the sometimes breath-taking, percussion-driven mountain-to-valley music arrangements about a guy who can't get out of bed in the morning and a joyful goddess who plunges through the ether to rescue him . . . by candlelight. Dagmar is the Muse of even the Muses, and loves transmogrifying into extravagant invertebrates, insects mostly. Lucky for our hero in hiding, she's up for just about anything, as long as it has more than four legs.
Dagmar's world premiere performance will be on June 25th, 2005 at JOE'S PUB in New York City.
