Singer / songwriter ernie c ernst regularly showcases her unique style of soul infused folk, pop, and rock to awed audiences in Austin, Texas. Her strong voice and supple acoustic guitar style unite delightfully to woo listeners into instant adoration. Ernie's cleverly crafted lyrics relay stories of past encounters and eventual successes to which every listener can relate. Effortlessly engaging her crowd, Ernie seems completely at ease on the stage; thus bringing her irresistible persona to light. The result is an audience left wanting more, both of her song and of her quirky presentation. Innovative and uninhibited, the music and live performance of ernie c ernst exceptionally displays the workings of a serious artist who is not afraid to sometimes take herself not so. (Seriously, that is.) Ernie is a force to be reckoned with and re-defines the breed: singer, songwriter, girl.
In addition to solo acoustic performances, Ernie also serves as bassist and vocalist for The After School Special, bassist and guitarist for The Sexy Finger Champs, and vocalist for hip-hop joint U Me and a DJ, and Austin's veteran Neil Diamond cover band, the Diamond Smugglers.

The album features Ernst, Beisenherz, and Dallas drummer / percussionist John Scully (Deadman) along with guest performances by Dave Brittman (Gallapagos,) Steven Collins (Deadman,) Chris Forshage (Larry, Grass,) Tim Gibbons (Slingblade artist,) Warren Hood and Matt Sleusher (South Austin Jug Band,) John Pointer (Schrodinger's Cat,) Greg Utay, and Jess Farr (The Astronaut Suit.)
In addition to A Jester's Life, Ernie's other projects, The After School Special and U Me and a DJ, are each preparing their debut releases for 2004. Ernie's vocals also appear on Milton Mapes' critically acclaimed Westernaire as well as future releases by Drew Cowan, The Trustees, Saratone, and The Pajamas.
