Description
Destrung's unique brand of music is a mixture of strummy acoustic guitars, bluesy tones and straight up raw rock and roll. The vibe is somewhere near the sound of The Violent Femmes, Lou Reed & the Replacements.
Destrung is the solo project from Jonas Kleiner. Jonas comes from a background of extensive touring and recording with his band Buck-O-Nine. You may remember Buck-O-Nine from their upbeat ska song "My-Town" which was played all the time on your local "alternative" radio station in 1997-1998. The band has toured relentlessly around the USA, Japan, Australia and the UK. Several Buck-O-Nine songs have also been used in major motion pictures and television.
Destrung's debut album, People Watching, was written over the span of a couple years in the back of a tour bus, in hotel rooms and at home during some much needed down time from touring. After the CD was recorded, Jonas hooked up with his friend Rob Paterson, from the San Diego band the Soultans, to play Bass and his buddy Eric from the band Surf Report on drums. Destrung plays shows in San Diego and Los Angeles.
