Description
In 2003 Digable Cat recorded the full-length album "Skratch Traxx" to excellent reviews. The album caught the attention of grammy-nominated producer Jeffrey Wood who asked to record them at Fantasy Studios in Berkley, CA. Fantasy Studios is home of Fantasy Records, a jazz label who owns all of the old Staxx recordings. Fantasy Studios is also where Santana has recorded his last two albums (Shamen and Supernatural), and other artists who have recorded there have been Creedence Clearwater, Grateful Dead, Green Day, White Stripes, Sammy Hagar, Blues Traveler, Jefferson Airplane, Brue Hornsby, Europe, Bobby McFerrin, Sonny Rollins, and the list goes one.
Digable Cat made the trip out there in January 2004 and recorded three songs in eight days. Two new tracks and a rerecording of "Mary Poppins" from "Skratch Traxx". Dawn Richardson from 4 Non Blondes sat in on drums for the recordings. What you have here are the results. Enjoy it!
