Sweetness and Decency
Dina D'Alessandro
"It's not necessarily D'Alessandro's gifted voice, which has been compared to Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee, but her songwriting ability that makes her stand out from the current crop of female recording artists wielding guitars." ~Albuquerque Journal

Description
After graduating from college, Dina D'Alessandro couldn't wait to head to Los Angeles and pursue her musical passions (instead of getting a real job). A year of writing and recording produced a strong EP that garnered critical success and placement for the song " Sweetness and Decency" on the MTV show "The Real World." Most recently, "Disappear" off of Dina's debut album was placed on the hit NBC show" Scrubs."
HISTORY: Dina D'Alessandro's musical career began one hot summer day in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 11. Inspired by her guitar-playing older sister, as well as her idol Jimmy Page, Dina decided to try and play "Heartbreaker" on her sister's electric guitar just for fun. What started as "fun" for Dina soon turned into a deep desire to learn as much as she could about this mysterious instrument.
Eventually Dina fell in love with the British guitar sounds of bands like the Psychedelic Furs, Catherine Wheel, Adorable, and the Cure. Her songwriting combines these British influences with her own personal style.
An explorer and traveler by nature, Dina decided to take her music to a wider audience with a six month tour of England as a solo singer/guitarist in 2000. While performing at such legendary clubs/pubs as The Grey Horse and The Halfmoon Putney where bands like The Rolling Stones and The Who got their start, Dina gained a sense of history and responsibility to songwriting that is reflected in her first full length studio album, 'Sweetness and Decency."
