Jim DiSpirito has been pounding on drums since he can remember ... just ask his parents.
He kept a steady course on the drums and studied music in the US and abroad, including study in India on the tabla as a student of Ustad Zakir Hussain & Nishikant Barodekar.
He is a three-time Emmy Award nominee for his music for television, and has composed music for independent and IMAX films.
As the percussionist for Rusted Root from 1993-2001, he helped define the great rhythm sound that would propel the band to gold and platinum sales.
Since exiting the band in 2001 he has been working on the project "big SILENCE", his debut CD, which incorporates the world beat and American pop sounds.
Great players on the project include Dave Brown & Eric Reibling (Gathering Field), Dwayne Dolphin, Pete Freeman and Dave Hanner (Corbin Hanner) ... plus many other wonderful musicians.
