Description
I am a singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Australia.
I had my first gig in mid 2002 and have performed regularly since then solo and with my band around Melbourne and at festivals - recently at the Sustainable Living Festival in Federation Square, Melbourne, The Frankston International Guitar Festival and The Ranges Festival.
My style is pop/rock with unusual jazz chord progressions. I have a 5-piece originals band, "Jess and the Paige Boys", consisting of me on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, keyboard player, drummer, bass player and an awesome new lead guitarist (imported from Italy).
I wrote all of the songs on the CD within the last year. I write quite a lot and it's hard to keep up with them! There are always some whining "me next, me next!". I just tell them that the deserving ones will get their time.
I come from a musical family - my father is a singer/songwriter too. Last year, I received an Australia Council grant to record songs for the EP "Back of Our Minds". I recently started mini-tours and am recording a single for release in May 2005.
