Description
JVA
Born in Los Angeles, Jim Walker (singer and songwriter of JVA) performed with several bands before forming the quirky pop group, Lost Anthony, which existed in the late eighties.
Good luck came when Phil Joanou, (director - U2: RATTLE AND HUM, STATE OF GRACE) asked Jim to write a song for his first feature film, Universal Picture's THREE O'CLOCK HIGH. Jim's song SOMETHING TO REMEMBER ME BY (produced by legendary session drummer/producer Rick Marotta) was featured throughout the film.
Walker spent the next few years with Marotta, writing songs and performing live. He also scored the films COVER GIRL MURDERS and DEAD AIR, plus episodes of HBO'S - TALES FROM THE CRYPT and Fox's - ON THE SHORE.
After brief signings with RCA and Geffen Records, Jim moved to Portland, Oregon where he met uber-musician Tim Ellis. The two handsome men began working as the mighty acoustic power-duo called JIM WALKER / TIM ELLIS.
Jim has released six cds of original music on his own independent label THON, including the brand new "HERE COMES THE BLOOD MAN" (2003).
Jim and Tim also co-scored the modern dance project ETHOS.
The duo has opened for Crash Test Dummies, Little Feat, Karla Bonoff, Boz Scaggs, Warren Zevon, and others.
