Description
"Delusions of Klezmer" is the second release from the Washington/Baltimore based klezmer band, The Alexandria Kleztet. They call the type of music they play, "alternative klezmer," since, while it is rooted in Jewish tradition, it borrows freely from other genres, including jazz, rock, classical, and world music. The result is a new sound that is at once innovative and enjoyable.
The album features 18 selections, 10 of them original compositions by the ensemble, with a total album length of over 68 minutes.
"Delusions of Klezmer" was recently named "Best World Music Recording" by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) for the year 2002!
