Description
J.C. Hyke - Bio
JC was born in Dallas Texas but within a year, his family moved out to California. He grew up in Pasadena, where he took piano lessons and played lots of sports. At the age of 20, he learned to play acoustic guitar. After learning his first 3 chords, he immediately wrote his first song.
He has been writing songs ever since, and truly loves country music. One of his favorite hobbies is going two-stepping with friends. He performed in LA at venues like; Viva Fresh, Highland Grounds, Hallenbecks, and The Cowboy Palace. In April of 2001, he was invited to perform at the NSAI showcase in Los Angeles.
JC moved to Nashville in September 2001, to take his career to the next level as a songwriter and as a recording artist. His style is new traditional country, in the likes of George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, and Darryl Worley. He is a member of the Songwriters Guild of America, the Nashville Songwriter's Association International, and ASCAP. He now plays around Nashville at the world famous Blue Bird Caf, The Broken Spoke, The Hall of Fame Lounge, The Basement, and Douglas Corner.
JC released his debut CD Fallin' on January 9, 2003. The first single off the album is the fun bar room sing-a-long, "Hillbilly Plastered". JC's songs are written and sung with a unique vulnerability and his melodies stay with you long after hearing them for the first time. His classic country voice and traditional writing, will be a welcomed change back to what made Nashville a giant during the '90's.
