Description
Kenni came to the Bay Area from the New England folk circuit, where she shared the stage with such notables as Jonatha Brooke, Patty Griffin, Patty Larkin, and Livingston Taylor as half of contemporary folk duo Back to Back. A California native and Harvard University alum, Feinberg worked as a legal researcher while attending Boston's Berklee School of Music, where she studied, songwriting, arranging, and music production. She won Berklee's annual songwriting competition in 1996 and 1997 and took an award in the 1996 Eudora Welty Songwriting Competition. She founded music publishing company Noonday Moon Music and released her first album, Kenni, on her own Noonday Moon Productions label in 1997. Her songs have appeared in the independent films Out of Season and Daisy's Fortune. She also composed the music for The Audio Partners 2002 release of Edgar Lee Masters' American classic, Spoon River Anthology.
Kenni & Company is an all-acoustic quartet playing Contemporary Folk/Americana with thoughtful lyrics, interesting grooves, and rich vocal harmonies. Kenni's clear, sweet mezzo-soprano voice is complemented by her driving guitar playing and by Josh Greenberg on percussion, Anne Schrager on background vocals, and Joshua Zucker on upright bass and background vocals. The members of Kenni & Company take special pride in their ability to perform with confidence in both amplified and "unplugged" situations.
