Description
The beauty of Amy's harp music, the warmth of her personality and her unique performance style combine to create an unforgettable musical experience - both in live performance and through her recordings.
Amy Kortuem began classical piano training when she was 11 years old. She continued piano and harpsichord lessons and performed through college, earning a minor in music as part of a BA degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
During Amy's junior year in college, she received a Celtic harp as a gift from a family friend, an Irishman named Jack McGowan. It's a gift that has changed her life. The harp has become her passion and purpose - to bring beautiful music to as many people as possible. Amy's second recording, "The Harp Her Soul Required," features traditional Irish music and is dedicated to Jack McGowan.
Audiences including everyone from preschool children to Mikhail Gorbachev and the former President Bush have enjoyed Amy's performances and recordings.
