Description
With the release of his debut album The Salvation EP and a stream of packed shows in Los Angeles, San Diego, & his native Northeast Ohio, The Kristoffer Carter Show has been putting itself on the map in 2003. Since releasing the EP in January, The KC Show has received considerable airplay on college radio and has shared the stage with the likes of Gomez (Ian Bell), Gary Jules, & That 1 Guy. Music Connection Magazine calls The KC Show "Compelling acoustic/electric energy that echoes classic Elvis Costello."
A touring bassist turned singer-songwriter, Kristoffer Carter had tried it all before stripping away the ego & excess and getting back to his original intentions: powerful songs & positivity. Kristoffer Carter Show is the vibrant amplification of Kris's songwriting, musical talents, and irreverent sense of humor.
Carter's vocal inflection lifts his lyrics seemingly straight from a screenplay, the results falling around the playful sides of Elvis Costello and Neil Diamond. Whether he's salvaging his integrity from the remains of a friendship gone wrong in Salvation: While you were away I put our friendship in a box and I called up the Salvation Army, or accepting obvious truths in a failing relationship (Hang Out): You know me I'm so prepared for nothing/and I know you mean every word you say, his words are always direct and observant. Even the 2-minute, feel-good opener Over That Now takes the simple notion of "letting go of life's garbage" and makes it a mantra.
A multi-instrumentalist from childhood, (cello, piano, guitar, & bass) Kris's signature guitar sound bounces effortlessly from frenetic strums to percussive finger-picking, and back again. Kris cut virtually every track on THE SALVATION EP with the help of producer Justin Harvey and drummer Jason Woods. In preparation for the EP's release, Kris started a journal called Becoming The Kristoffer Carter SHOW. Published daily on KCSHOW.com, it documents his journey and has found it's own devoted following. With mounting label interest, a new full-length CD, Live Concert DVD, & several national tours scheduled, The Kristoffer Carter Show has a lot to look forward to in 2003.
